BASIC HOW TO GRAFFITI KEMZ

people ask me sometimes how i go about doing my graffiti (throwups, piece, block busters) sometimes i get ridiculous questions like do i use tape or a projector... so here's the how to of a kemz in the making. lol.

1.) i usually make a quick sketch on paper just so i don't miss some of the things i wanna put on my piece. ofcourse don't rely too much on this sketch because remember i am painting outdoors and anything can ruin that piece of paper, so if by chance that does happened, then it's freestyle mode, all from memory.

2.) apply the sketch to a wall of your choosing. legal or non-legal. in this case, this is a semi-legalish wall. i mean, i didn't ask for permission, but no one gives a fuck anyway. i normally would use a can of spray paint for this part of the process.

3.) now it's time to fill. i use anything i can to fill out my name. i've used wood paint, wall paint, spray paint, wall plaster.... the list goes on. in this case i used white wall paint and some spray paints.

4.) after the fill, i line my graff. this is usually done with spray paint because i am no good with brushes (exept on block busters, you can see why my block busters are so damn messy)

5.) last i do some finishing touches, cutting if necessary, taggings and outlines. and thats how i usually finish a Kemz.

KEMY KEMZ TAKES ON DIRECTOR OF ART POSITION FOR PARENTS DAY 2011

allright first of all i've decided to take on the job for DOA for Parents Day 2011. Parents Day is this huge event for my campus that is supposed to be showing our parents what we've been doing and thanking them and stuff. let me emphisize that this event is huge.
so i passed the interview and i got the job. first assignment, make a logo.
for logos, it had to be simple and to the point. the theme for PD 0'11 is Venice so i instantly thought of a gondola. what other way to best represent Venice? so i made a siloutte of a gondola and the gondola guy (?)
why i did a siloutte instead of the real thing? because logos are simple, not to much badazzeles.
i started to think, what is a gondola? what is the role of a gondola? it is a transporter. it gets us to the place we want to go. a guide if you will.
then it hits me, that is also the same role our parents play in our lives. our parents are our gondolas. so i put a little child in the siloutte so it would represent us on a gondola.
as for the lettering, i used something fancy. you know, venice style. then i started thinking about color. i wanted to color it softly and the theme color for the party is purple.
and just put a circle on it to finish it off and there you go ladies and gents, PD 0'11 logo.

i am and have been a fan of this type of art. art with a double meaning. the big picture tells one story, but as you look closer to the details, it tells a whole diffrent story. a double meaning. as an artist myself (lol artist) i would (one day) like to think up of my own double meaning to my artwork. here are a couple of artworks from various artists that i dugg up from previous saved files.

today i had to pick my little sister up because she was spending the night at my cousin's house. well if you've ever tried going anywhere in Jakarta, you'd know the traffic here sucks. we were stuck hours on the road, and we havn't ate all day, so we stopped by a KFC somewhere.
the building looked somewhat eerie, but me and my sister was like "ey fuck it, i'm hungry" so we went in. when we went in, the building was empty. not even a security guard. damn. so we looked for the escalator (because the sign says KFC is on the 3rd floor), but the escalator didn't work. well we weren't gonna go up 3 floors in a spooky building, so we decided to take the elevator instead.

when we got to the 3rd floor, it was dark and empty. but the KFC was very bright. we went in and there was no one except for one guy at the cash register. so we ordered our food and ate, just the two of us. here's a pic of the third floor...very empty (itu gue pura-pura mati supaya kesannya lebih dramatis like a zombie movie.)

it's always fun when the clan come over and hang out. we opened up a pitcher of the world's finest NTA's official drink and started sippin' and sprayin'.

TOO COOL FOR HIGH SCHOOL

sometimes there are certain times in your life where you relize that once isn't enough. that time for me is highschool. it'd be so nice to go back to highschool and go through it again. the friends, the crush, the drama (damn i sound like a chick, but hey, it's true.)
so in honor of my highschool memory, i'd like to dedicate this post to my SMA 6 Jakarta. and just for shits and giggles, i'd like to make this post like my classmate, Cassey, did on her "I'd Kill To Go Back To Highschool" post. i hope she don't mind.
alrightey, lets do this:

1. I bet you were very popular in high school! How was it like?
hmmm, well i don't know if i am popular or not. well actually, i know. i was just being modest. yea i was well known. but not well liked. haha! no just kidding, i think a lot of people knew me because i was the kid who couldn't speak Indonesian. plus i'm cool as fuck too, thats a bonus.

2. What were you like in high school?
i think i went through highschool laughing my ass off. it was too funny. i made fun of teachers and made fun of retards. i got in a whole lot of trouble for that. i never had any extra curricular activites like basketball or any of that stuff, but i was always at my school until night time. mainly because i was waiting to get into fights. i guess highschool is half the reason heaven isn't going to accept me. (o god i'm just kidding. please accept me)

3. Were you one of those girls that wore tight uniforms? Were you fashionable in high school?
well i don't know about this one. but this question is the main reason i did this Q&A thing. yay girls in tight uniforms!

4. What was your favorite high school activity?
hangin out with friends. basicly thats it. i never studied in highschool. not even once. even if i did, it wouldn't make a hell of a diffrence because i couldn't understand Indonesian. so all i did was mess around with people.

5. In high school, were you a good student or bad student?
i was horrible. i made my english teacher join my gang. i cheated through highschool. i skipped school, a lot. actually i skipped school just to go out on fights. i got high. i got drunk. i was like the big tagger guy in school. everywhere i was putting my gang's name with markers. they had a teacher that was out for me for that too. he was just waiting for me to slip and leave evidence that i was the guy tagging up everything, but i was too slick. he couldn't catch me even if i wrote right under his ugly little nose... plus my teacher caught me humpin' a wall. yes. i was making love with the wall. it was a dare.

6. Would you go back to high school if you could?
aww definitly. i'd love to. high school was great. but there are somethings i wanna change..
i wanna go back and tell my highschool crush that i liked her. maybe things'll turn out diffrent if i went out with her back then. and it turns out she had a crush on me too, but i was too nervous to ask her out. o well, at least i went out with her after highschool. but it would've been nice if we went out during highschool.
i want to be a nicer student to my teachers. they were great. i mean, they didn't deserve to be treated the way i treated them. they're teachers, they should be respected.
i want to go back and be friends with the kid i verbally abused. he was a good kid, damn i was a jerk.

SEMARANG TRIP

As i've said before, me and Ray14 went on a little graffiti trip to Semarang. we arrived at night and we have our friend Collapse pick us up. we went to the event and we sketch'd out our graff. but we were too fuckin' tired as fuck to keep going, so we took a rest up in my sister's crib (my sister goes to undip)
after a well deserved rest, we came back to the spot, merked out a couple of badboys. and then collapse took us to some other spots where me and ray managed to pull out a couple of simple pieces out of our sleeves.
next time NTA goes there, we're hittin up the train lines.

a night out at the Rolling Stone with some of my closest friends. it was way too much fun. all of us have been so busy lately with our own shit.. college, work, relationships,,, basicly life, it's been a while since i've seen some of these people. but the thing about close friends is, even tho we havn't seen each other in a long ass time, when you meet them again it's like we've been apart for only a day.

you know the Clara Adelin Supit scandal that's been the hot topic for college students (and middle-aged perverted men)? well maybe not your college, but it sure is a hot topic in my college and as well as Binus University i'm sure. (because the ones involved are from Trisakti Tourism & Bina Nusantara University)
well for all of you kids who don't know the run-down of what happened, you don't have to worry because i got the scoop for you (-the gossip-show presenter in me is comming out). so there's this guy, Joshua who's supposedly involved in some bad mojo. and the only way out of his problem is to see a nude pic of a girl.. i don't know if he had to see a pretty girl's photo or if any girl, ugly or pretty, will do..(but hey, if your life depends on a nude pic, why not go for the pretty ones.. riiiight?) so he asked for Misly's (his ex-girlfriend) help. well turned out, Misly was happy to help by offering her friend, Clara Adelin Supit, to Joshua. so Clara took off her clothes and they started to take photos of her. then Clara told Misly not to show anyone the nude pics of her except for Joshua... and wouldn't you know it, the photoes showed up on facebook. the shocked Ms. Clara immedietly told the police and now the police are looking for the
ones who put the pics up on the internet.
My thoughts: well i'm guessing Clara isn't the smartest person in the world.. so i'll give her some slack. but come on!!! and why didn't Misly just take pics of herself? this whole thing doesn't make any sense to me. and by the looks of the photos, i'm guessing
clara isn't the girl-scout trooper who

never did anything wrong before. captain of her campus' cheersquad so she gotta be popular, must be a real sore in the ass when you go to campus and every one there have seen you naked.. so really baby girl, don't be too shocked.. you had it comming. just hold it out till for a couple of months and it'll blow over. or just hope that some other chick decide to take nudie pics too so you two can share the humiliation.

Pink Girl Go Wild, lulusan jurusan Desain Komunikasi Visual FSRD Univ. Trisakti, karya gambarnya dimulai dari membuat desain karakter yang kemudian diaplikasikannya ke berbagai macam produk seperti toys, kursi, wallpaper dan digital print. Gambar-gambarnya menyerupai imajinasi dunia anak kecil dan sekaligus dekoratif.

Monica Hapsari, lulusan jurusan Kriya Tekstil FSRD ITB, bekerja di dunia fashion dan majalah baik sebagai fashion stylist ataupun illustrator. Karya gambarnya banyak dipengaruhi oleh dunia fashion dan Monica mampu membawanya ke dunia seni murni.

Dalam pameran di RURU Gallery kali ini, ke 3 seniman ini akan menampilkan eksplorasi terbaru dari karya drawing mereka. Bukan merupakan sebuah karya kolaborasi, tapi ke 3-nya akan mencoba membuat “ruang”-nya masing-masing melalui seni gambar.

Cannabis Caviar is marajuana buds soaked in hash oil then dried up for weeks and even months. now this is some real sticky icky smoke it with mama vicky, oooowie. becareful tho, they describe this as "the one hitter quiter" which basicly means, it'll knock your ass out. plus it's real expensive. so if any of you got a chance to try it, tell me about it. i mean, i don't even like smoking reefa' all that much (makes me sleepy) but for something this expensive, i'll be more then willing to light one up. and of course i got the source here.

for all you guys out there, learn from this guy. okay, so if you ever do decide to propose to your lady friend (or boy friend if you're into that), you wanna make it so unforgetable that she'll remember it all her life, right? you gotta be creative. you either gotta do something really really romantic like take her out to dinner while your friends sneak back to her home and put flowers on the floor and light up candles so that when she gets back to her home, it will be all romanticized out and then you get down on your knees and ask her the three magic words... and hopefully she'll answer the word with the three magic letters instead of the word with only two letters in it.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDA BELOO

today is one of my closest friend's (that just happens to be my ex-girlfriend) birthday.
so i decided to do a little sketch for her. the sketch is a picture of her, holding a baloon (i left the face blank because i don't know how to draw faces). there is an actual photo of her holding a balloon with a white shirt and a purple scarf so i kinda stole the idea from there. and then i just threw in some birthday cake, some other balloons and a cow (which is her favorite animal) o yea, and i put in a little style lettering.
after the sketch was done, i was still holding the marker, so i started writing on myself. so i decided to take a picture of me and my scriblings on my hand. haha. i really hope she likes it. and i hope she have a wonderful birthday. she's a really beautiful girl, inside and outside. plus she is really fun to hang out with. i hope the guy she's with relizes how lucky he is. so to manda belo, cheers kid.

one thing that i've been addicted to ever since i moved to Indonesia is Tehbotol sosro. the bottled tea just hits the spot after you eat.
according to it's history, the founder of tehbotol was selling brewed tea to custumers but it took up too much time to cool down. so they end up bottling the already cooled tea. which is genius.
yesterday the founder, Soetjipto Sosrodjojo, died at 77 years of age. well I'd like to say thanks mister Sosrodjojo because your drink is the drink i look for when i'm eating mie ayam in the side of the street.

back when i was in highschool, i took part in these crazy fiasco. yea, so for all you cats who don't know, tawuran is like mass fighting between schools.
alright, i'm gonna admit it here, it's very KAMPUNGAN. it's not civilized and i think it's dumb. but hey, i think some of the most exciting things in life are the dumb things. right? haha. so yea, it's all fun and games and it's always fun to whack a couple of guys in the head with a stick.
my highschool days were my favorite. and we fought not because we hate the kids from the other schools (as a matter of fact, they were actually friends from Jr. high) it was just a little tradition. a spur for the moment thing. a thing we do just for fun. oh i love cookies. chocalate chips, oatmeal, whatever, i love em.
i also like to eat cookie dough. man. that's the best to eat em before they go in the oven. yea, i was one of those sexy fat kids who always waited for my sister (my sister always love to make cookies back then) to finish making the cookie batter and let me lick the spoon.

last week, there was this event for the launching of the respecta website.
it was nice, lots of street people came. met lots of new friends.
o yea, in this event, they had a graffiti award show. street artist were mention for what they do best. and i just happened to win Tembok Bomber's "Public Enemy #1" for 2009.
thanks man. i know a lot of haters were dissapointed when i came on. haha. fuck you, you can hate me, but you can't beat me.

A YEAR WITHOUT A GIRLFRIEND

breakups are never good, but me and my ex-girlfriend had a nice break up and we promised to keep in touch and promised to get back together one day, but that didn't go according to plan. in the end, my ex hated me. but a couple weeks ago, we decide to be grown ups and become friends.

well that's the history of my latest love tale. that was all in the past, exactly a year ago. but now i'm gonna talk about my day as the boy who went through a year without a girlfriend.

(i broke up january 30-31)

january 30th

so i woke up, and immedietly i remembered what this day was. what it ment. fuck! but i wasn't gonna let that ruin my day. because my schedule was packed. so i ate breakfast and then got ready to go out. my sister came along with me. i wanted to take a picture of the graffiti piece i did a week ago. so on the way there i told my sister that today is the day i broke up with my ex. i told her i wasn't bummed because i'm sad that today reminded me that i'm no longer with my exgirlfriend, but i'm bummed because i havn't gotten a girlfriend since then. well then my little sister started blabbing about how i'm not attractive thats why i can't get any girls and stuff like that. whatever. so we took pictures of my graff and then she wanted to meet up with her friends at citos. so i dropped her off.

after dropping my sister off, i had nothing to do, so i went to rambe's house. rambe is my old high school friend who never locks his house and anybody is welcome to crash there. so i arrived at rambe's, i opened the door and went straight up to his room. when i got up to rambe's room, he was sleeping but there were like 5 other people (all friends of mine) who was just there chilling, listening to music, surfing the internet, playing video games. so i told all those guys what today ment to me. and they were not very helpfull, they were like 'man screw that, just go hookup with the easy girls' and other stupid remarks that i'm embarassed to write about because these are comming from the people i hang out with. so then i was like "man fuck you guys, i wanna listed to a love song" and every body moaned (even rambe who was sleeping). so i got on rambe's computer and look for a love song, but he had none! oww shit belt!!! so i went online to download one, but i don't know the titles for love songs... so i just started looking around and i found a song with the titles 'Jika cinta dia' by geisha and i was like "o this has to be a love song'... so i downloaded it. played it. everybody laughed. repeat the song three times and everybody sang along. they really know how to cheer a guy up.

after i left rambe's house, i made plans to hangout with my very talketive friend achit (which just happens to be my ex-girlfriend's best friend). so we went to mall kelapa gading and had lunch. of course, like everyone else i met that day, i told her that today is the one year bullshit deal. and well, she made fun of me. no wait, first she talked to me as if i was her little brother... giving me advises on how this day shouldn't matter. and then she got bored of being serius so she just decided to make fun of me. and then our friends called us up and told us to meet them at this one shisha joint at kemang.

achitos and I. don't worry ladies, i'm still single and not with this person. :p
ofcourse when we got there, achit told everybody about my troubles and everybody laughed. i was so tired of everyone ragging on me that day, so i decided to leave early.

so i left.

while driving, i was wondering if my ex-girlfriend knew what today was. so i texted her.

"hey, can we talk?"

half an hour passed by and finally i got a reply,, only it wasn't from her, it was from her boyfriend. oooo mega shit-belt. he said "talk about what?"

so i just thought of the first excuse that came to my mind, i told him i just wanted to talk because we havn't talked in a while and i wanted to know how she was doing.

good thing the guy was cool about it, he was like "yea it's aight, i know you guys are friends."

either he uberly trust his girlfriend or he's scared if he says some stuff i'll come there and whoop his ass.

january 31st

soooooo, like at 1 in the morning, my ex texted me and said "hey, still wanna talk?"

so i called her up. and we talked. until around 5 in the morning. she told me that her boyfriend was holding her phone when i texted, so that's how he knew. haha. i asked her if she knew what today was and she knew. so i told her about my shitty day, and even shittier year since i was with her. i told her about the shitty girls who i've gone out with since then and none of them became my girlfriend. she told me not to worry, she said i just havn't found the right one. and out of all the people i told about this 'one year' thing, the one that made me feel better about it was the girl that co-caused this 'one year' thing. which i found very funny. she's a good friend,,, bad girlfriend material tho, but good friend none the less.
